SanthomeCatholic Church
A parish family rooted in the ancient tradition of St. Thomas — gathered in worship, held in grace, and open to everyone who comes through our doors.
You are always welcome
in this parish family
For almost a century, this church has been a spiritual home to the families of Perumbavoor — a place where children are baptised, where the faithful are married, where the departed are remembered, and where God’s grace is quietly at work in ordinary lives.
Whether you have prayed here since childhood or are stepping through our doors for the first time, there is a place for you here.
“Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11 : 28At This Altar,
Heaven Touches Earth
Here the Holy Qurbana is offered according to the Liturgy of St. James — the ancient West Syriac rite of our Church, prayed in Malayalam with the old Syriac invocations still carried on our lips.
Every Sunday and every weekday morning, the parish gathers around this altar. It is the same offering our fathers knew, and the same grace given to us now.

Mother of Sorrows
Standing within our church is the Pietà — the Blessed Mother holding her Son taken down from the Cross. It is among the most beloved sights in our parish, and few pass it without pausing.
Families come here before weddings and after funerals, before examinations and before journeys. Candles are lit, petitions are whispered, and grief is laid down at the feet of the one who understood it first.
“And a sword will pierce through your own soul also.”

A Story That Began
With Five Families
In September 1930, the reunion movement of Mar Ivanios reached Perumbavoor. Land was purchased on M.C. Road, a nunnery in Germany sent aid, and a small church rose where ours stands today.
From five families to a parish that has built homes for the needy, opened its doors in friendship to its neighbours, and sent its witness far beyond this town.
From Our Parish Life
