Ministries
Our Ministries& Parish Groups
Every gift has its place in the body of Christ. These are the groups through which our parish family prays, serves, teaches, and grows together.
Many Members, One Body
From the children who learn their first prayers in Sunday School to the mothers, youth, and elders who carry the parish’s work week after week — each ministry here is a way of belonging. Whatever your age or ability, there is a place for you among us.
Liturgical Ministries
Those who serve directly in the celebration of the Holy Qurbana and the prayer life of the parish.
Altar Servers
Our altar servers assist the priest at the altar during the Holy Qurbana and other liturgical celebrations — carrying the cross and candles, tending the censer, and preparing the sanctuary. For many young members of the parish, it is the first place they learn what it means to serve God with reverence and care.
Parish Choir
The choir leads the congregation in the rich hymnody of the Malankara tradition, carrying the ancient melodies of our liturgy from one generation to the next. They give voice to the prayer of the whole assembly at every Qurbana, feast, and special celebration of the parish.
Leadership & Administration
The elected and appointed bodies who work alongside our vicar in the care and governance of the parish.
Parish Council
Elected representatives of the parish families who work with the vicar in planning, administration, and the stewardship of parish resources. The council meets regularly to discuss the needs of the community and to guide the decisions that shape parish life.
MCA Committee
The MCA committee coordinates the lay activities of the parish and represents our community in the wider work of the Association. Its members help organise parish programmes, support diocesan initiatives, and strengthen the bond between our parish and the Malankara Catholic Church at large.
Faith Formation
Where the faith is taught, received, and passed to the next generation of our parish.
Sunday School Teachers
Our catechists give their Sundays to teaching the children of the parish the Scriptures, the sacraments, and the traditions of the Malankara Church. Theirs is a quiet, patient ministry — forming not just knowledge, but the habits of a life of faith.
Sunday School Students
The children of our parish gather each Sunday for catechism, prayer, and preparation for the sacraments. Alongside their lessons they take part in competitions, feast day celebrations, and the annual programmes that make Sunday School a joyful part of growing up in this community.
Associations & Outreach
The mothers, youth, and volunteers who carry the parish’s care into homes, families, and the wider town.
MCMF
The mothers of our parish, united in prayer and in the care of families. The Mathru Sangham supports the spiritual life of the home, organises devotions and retreats, and quietly stands behind almost every parish celebration with its work and its generosity.
MCYM
The youth of the parish, gathered for faith formation, service, and fellowship. MCYM leads retreats and study sessions, takes up social and charitable work, and brings energy to the feasts and cultural life of the parish — forming young people who will lead this community tomorrow.
St. Vincent de Paul Society
Revived during the renewal of 2003, the Society serves the poor and the struggling — through home visits, material assistance, and support for families in difficulty. Its members carry out this work discreetly, seeing Christ in every person they help.
